At the 2008 Taste of Melbourne Festival, the Hellenic Republic souvlaki was a runaway success. Selling over 6000 individual souvlaki’s, this was not only voted the most popular dish of the festival but one of the best ten dishes of 2008 by restaurant critic Pat Nourse in Gourmet Traveller. Thats pretty big praise for the humble souva!
If you missed it then, this is your chance to try our almost world- famous souvlaki. Head to the bar during your lunch break and order a souvlaki to take away and in just minutes you will be enjoying your very own piece of Greece.

Comedy Festival pre-theatre menu, The Press Club Bar
During the Comedy Festival, April 1 to April 26, the Press Club Bar will be offering a two or three course set menu. Offered from 5pm until 9pm daily, this is perfect for a pre-show meal or can be enjoyed after an early show.
Two courses for $38 and three courses for $45.
Reservations are recommended.
Chefs Unite, Friday 3rd April, Peninsula, Docklands
50 renowned Victorian chefs will unit for one night only and collaborate their culinary expertise for the 2009 Victorian Bushfire Appeal.
Including George Calombaris and Shane Delia, a selection of chefs will team up for this unique experience. Each guest will be served three course from random restaurants, with each plate signed by the chef who prepared it.
Tickets to this exclusive event are $250 each and sure to sell out.
